Art WalkChinatown & Little Italy
Last updated Jun 10, 2026
The Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral (The Godfather one) and the beloved Elizabeth Street Garden tucked between. It's touristy, it's crowded, and it works.
You’ll find the art spaces up, down, and around Elizabeth Street, on Grand, and down onto Canal Street and the lower Bowery. They’re inside an old garage, a church rectory, and an office that overlooks the amusement park rides during the Feast of San Gennaro.
This isn't downtown's flashiest circuit. And it’s definitely not its quietest. But its one of the most fun to wander.
GalleryLittle Italy
Feminist, queer, theatrical art in a graffiti-covered gallery with a basement speakeasy.
GalleryLittle Italy
This elegiac, two-storey Elizabeth Street gallery is a place of worship for refined, sensual art.
Alternative SpaceLittle Italy
One of downtown's most beloved alternative art spaces. Politics, performance, community, and experimentation collide here. Black walls and raw, deeply human shows that cling to your mind long after you leave.
GalleryLittle Italy
Self-aware, socially-motivated painting about culture, media, and the moment we’re living in.
GalleryLittle Italy
Riding the waves of minimalist and conceptual art since their beginnings, with each new generation picking up the thread.
GalleryChinatown
Art for people who notice things like when the light changes and the room goes quiet.
GalleryChinatown
Take the pulse of the new New York scene at this spacious, sunny second-floor gallery overlooking Canal Street, where artistic careers are launched and revitalized.
GalleryChinatown
Two generations of artists, decades apart, making high-concept, anti-establishment work on the topic of freedom.
GalleryChinatown
Playful, boundary-merging art reflecting on the rituals of everyday life, set against the backdrop of an old-school loft space on the Bowery.

You've seen the art. Now go explore places to pause in the neighborhood.

California beans pour where the DVDs used to live. There's a Seoul-café polish to the place — read: dangerously photogenic.
