Derby Cup is all oxblood walls, striped ceilings, leather banquettes, horse tack, jockey paintings, and dark cherry timber. Think somewhere between a downtown cafe and a racing stable.
Artist and lifelong horse enthusiast Yasmin Kaytmaz designed this place alongside David Komurek and Alex Ball, the team behind nearby late-night favorite The River. It was created to give Chinatown a neighborhood coffee shop, one where regulars can move in and out all day long.
Variety beans are brewed behind the bar, and pastries arrive from nearby Partybus Bakeshop. The pistachio iced latte has become one of our most gripping addictions; we admit.
