Walk in With Us
Grumpy started back in 2005. A lot has changed for NYC coffee since then, and they are one of the reasons. Despite the name, nobody here is particularly grumpy. The joke’s more about how people feel before their first coffee of the day. We get it.
The room is bright, compact, and refreshingly functional. People stop in on their morning walk, perch outside with a flat white, or grab a coffee before heading towards Essex Market, Seward Park, or downtown's galleries.
The coffee is always great, and the service is quick. The Lower East Side outpost is a reliable constant amongst a neighborhood that changes almost weekly.
