Follow the scent of sugar to one of downtown’s most beloved cake shops where the cakes look too beautiful to cut. The whole place feels delicate.
Lucie Franc de Ferriere started baking after losing her gallery job during the pandemic. She opened From Lucie in 2023.
Think towering carrot cakes crowned with real flowers. Lemon cakes dotted with tiny blossoms. Layers of chamomile cream, Earl Grey frosting, elderflower fillings, and seasonal fruit arranged with the deft touch of a Dutch still life. The flavors aren’t aggressively sweet. Instead, they bloom slowly.
