Be drenched in old-world European elegance with art by rarely-seen contemporary Italian artists, shown at the former CBGBs punk bar turned gallery.

Here, the focus is on sophisticated, unexpected work by Italian painters you might not otherwise see on this side of the Atlantic. Even if the artists hail from Brooklyn (not Italy), the work still feels like it could have been dreamed up inside an old palazzo or a sprawling aristocratic apartment in Rome or Florence. We like to imagine the paintings we see here inside super ornate Baroque-style frames. Preferably gold ones.
Named after a delirium-inducing mushroom and founded in Florence during Covid in 2021, the two friends behind this space grew up together in Rome, Tommaso Rositani Suckert and Caio Twombly (Grandson of the legendary painter, Cy Twombly).
The pair moved the gallery into the legendary punk and new wave bar CBGBs on the Bowery in 2022. They have since been joined by experienced NYC gallerists Garrett Goldsmith and Jacob Hyman. In 2025, they opened a second space in Freeman’s Alley, right around the corner from the New Museum.
